Alliterative Phonics- Picture Gallery

This file is awaiting completion. It will contain pictures that illustrate how real objects can encourage and enhance alliterative vocabulary and language enrichment. When the author presented learning about the letter B she presented the following display – a black box behind a brown brick with a beautiful butterfly balanced on a ball beside a broad brown bat. This display was designed to encourage alliterative language and the use of descriptive vocabulary related to position. It provided a greater opportunity for language enrichment beyond the standard B for Ball.
The author also likes to provide an opportunity to find alliterative objects to be placed in a named container of the same initial letter. However, the letter A started with ‘An Amazing Adventure’ story that was created as a shared activity that developed an amazing adventure story across America that included people, animals, objects and activities all starting with the letter A.
The letter B was a collection of ‘B’ items placed in a big brown basket or in a beautiful blue bowl. Everyone enjoys making a collection of things and putting them into a designated container [children call it play and adults call it tiding up!] On this occasion there was an element of creative choice either a bowl or a basket.
